JOB SUMMARY
In this role the QC inspector will perform a variety of inspection tasks to determine compliance including receiving, in process and final inspection of parts and or finished products using standard physical means, and/or mechanical or electrical testing equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Perform inspections of purchased parts and finished assemblies according to well define criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/ or electrical measurements.
• Send parts back for rework or reject parts or assemblies as required.
• Accurately document the results of the inspections and testing.
• Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner.
• Coordinate calibration of all test equipment and fixtures
• Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation and calibration.
• Evaluate problems and make initial recommendations for possible corrective action to management.
• Assure that all requirements of the documentation have been met by performing detailed visual, hardness, and dimensional inspection of component parts
• Ensure quality control policies and procedures are followed
• Be responsible for the identification and control of nonconforming product and Non Conformance Report (NCR) and Field Incident Report (FIR).
• Performs audits of quality systems, and other related duties as assigned by management
• Observes all company health, safety and environmental policies, rules and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION
EDUCATION /
EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of 3 years inspection experience in manufacturing environment, including welding, machinery and assembly. Must successfully pass pre-and post-employment drug and alcohol tests per company policy.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

If required to drive company vehicle – valid driver’s license required, along with driving record that will meet company insurance policy standards for insurability. Driver’s license and required endorsements must be kept valid and maintained as a condition of continued employment.

• Ability to read and follow written instructions, analyzes, and interprets working drawings, technical specifications, etc.
• Ability to use inspection gages micrometers and calipers
• Must possess basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Experience in Quality Control Plans and the Quality Control Process is required
• Must possess a team player mindset with the willingness to accept new challenges including cross training to assist in other Quality Control Duties
• Familiarity with GAGEMaker
• Ability to understand production requirements, quality demands, shipping schedules and product quality details.
• Ability to plan and manage work in an efficient manner
• Ability to work well under stress and time pressures.
• Able to identify and solve problems
• Able to manage multiple priorities, multi-task, with good organizational and time management skill. .
• Ability to demonstrate initiative and assertiveness

PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS

Bending, stooping, sitting, walking; visual acuity and hand/finger dexterity. Employee is regularly required to talk and hear with close and distant vision. Employee is frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

PPE REQUIREMENTS Safety glasses and steel toe boots required in shop area.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is primarily in a shop environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is exposed occasionally to wet and/or humid conditions. Exposure to fumes, dusty environments and/or airborne particles on a regular or routine bases. The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate to occasionally load.
